From watching the Northern Soul movie on Netflix, there were quite a few things that I as an individual picked up on regarding the theme.

• The classic style was very 60's based
• Polo Shirts were a huge thing back then
• Girls wore simple makeup and simple hair to show off the clothes more
• Boys would usually have the long, messy and and scruffy hair look as this was the go to and on trend hair look to go for
• Boys would stray towards the polo shirt and jeans/chino look with retro looking jackets 
• Brands auch as Fred Perry and Ben Sherman were a huge trend for all people involved
• Drugs were a massive aspect of northern soul in order for the people to be able to stay awake and keep dancing for hours on end
• It has quite a retro but simplistic vibe regarding styling 
• The music was very old school and obviously northern soul, which will be something I can incorporate into my film, gif and also photography with my partner 
• The movie gave a good insight into what northern soul actually is and made me understand it a lot better than I already do 
• The film gave me some ideas of what to do for the film, photoshoot and gif
