INTRODUCTION TO MODULE:
Myself and Amy Phillips have decided to pair together to work on this project. The group work we will be completing together is the photography, the 60 second film and the gif; all creative things that we both believe to be suited to us individually and as a group.
We have spoken about out initial ideas and have come up with the idea of a timeline for the 60 second film, with 10 seconds on each decade from the 1960's, portraying the evolution of northern soul. We want to include music and retro looking film, colours and vibes along with over voices from different people's opinions, from different generations about their individual views and opinions on what northern soul is to them.
It is important to us to include a range of different views and interpretations of northern soul as no ones opinion is wrong, while ensuring to show clearly what our interpretation of northern soul is.
The route and interpretation of northern soul that we have decided to go down is going to be an edgy, hip and kind of rustic look. We feel as though this explains our understanding of northern soul well and we also believe we will be able to produce some good work as we are both interested in these aspects of fashion ourselves. The photography and the gif that we will be submitting will also follow this trend for the final products.
